James Hardie Siding in Northwest Arkansas

Fiber cement siding, trim and soffit installed by a James Hardie Alliance Program member.

James Hardie

Why James Hardie Fiber Cement

James Hardie is the best-known name in fiber cement siding. Fiber cement is made from cement, sand and cellulose fibers, so it won't rot, warp, or attract termites and woodpeckers the way wood can, and it's noncombustible. It handles hot, humid Arkansas summers and freezing winters, and it holds paint far longer than wood.

It's also heavier and more technical to install than vinyl. Cutting, clearances, flashing and fastening all have to follow Hardie's requirements for the siding to perform and for the warranty to hold, which is why installer training matters.

FAQ

James Hardie Questions

What is the James Hardie Alliance Program?

It's James Hardie's program for siding contractors who are trained on Hardie products and installation. Shewmaker Roofing is a member.

Is James Hardie siding worth it?

For most Northwest Arkansas homes, yes. Fiber cement resists rot, pests, fire and woodpeckers, holds paint well and stands up to our heat, humidity and storms. It costs more than vinyl but lasts much longer and looks like real wood.

Can I get Hardie siding pre-painted?

Yes. Many Hardie products come factory-finished in Statement Collection® colors, or primed and ready to paint any color you want.

Do you install Hardie board-and-batten?

Yes. Board-and-batten with Hardie Panel and batten boards is one of our specialties.
