Why We Install Malarkey
Malarkey Roofing Products makes some of the toughest asphalt shingles on the market. Their shingles use NEX® rubberized asphalt, made with upcycled tires and plastic bags, which gives them more flexibility and impact resistance than standard shingles. Three of their four shingle lines carry a Class 4 impact rating, which matters in Northwest Arkansas hail country.
Malarkey shingles are also made with 3M™ smog-reducing granules that help break down air pollutants, and copper granules that fight the black streaks algae leaves on roofs.
Certified Premium Contractor
Shewmaker Roofing is a Malarkey Certified Premium Contractor, Malarkey's highest residential level. Premium contractors complete advanced training and have their installs inspected by Malarkey's technical team.
The Warranty That Comes With It
On qualifying roofs we can offer a 50-year non-prorated material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty backed by Malarkey itself, plus enhanced wind coverage. To qualify, the roof must be a complete Malarkey system: ice and water barrier, underlayment, shingles, starter and hip and ridge, installed to Malarkey's requirements. We'll tell you up front if your roof qualifies.

Malarkey Roof System Components
A roof is more than shingles. Using Malarkey components throughout is what qualifies a roof for Malarkey's strongest warranties.
- Ice & water barriers. Arctic Seal® and Secure Start® HT protect valleys, eaves and penetrations, where leaks usually start.
- Underlayments. Secure Start® synthetic underlayments go over the whole deck as a second line of defense under the shingles.
- Starter shingles. Smart Start® and Windsor® Starter seal the eaves and rakes so wind can't get under the first course.
- Hip & ridge. RidgeFlex® and EZ-Ridge® caps finish the ridges and hips and match the field shingles.
Malarkey Questions
Are Malarkey shingles good for hail?
Malarkey's Windsor, Legacy and Vista AR shingles carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, the highest rating available, and Highlander AR is Class 3. Some insurers offer discounts for Class 4 roofs, so ask your agent.

What warranty can you offer on a Malarkey roof?
On qualifying Malarkey shingle roofs we can offer a 50-year non-prorated material warranty and a 25-year workmanship warranty backed by Malarkey. The roof has to be a complete Malarkey system installed to Malarkey's requirements.
What is NEX rubberized asphalt?
Malarkey blends rubber and plastic polymers, including upcycled tires and plastic bags, into the asphalt. It makes the shingles tougher and more flexible, which helps with impact and wind.
